Note to the Wise:
The most critical factor to know in retaining a pond builder is to whether or not post construction maintenance is provided. If not, almost certainly you will be paying for a defective product. If not now, in five years.

A defective product is lack of clarity in the water. It is dying fish. And when you call you pond builder, these are the replies that you will get: “You must have done something wrong. Added the wrong chemicals?” or “You have the PH level too high.” or “You have too many fish.” or “Your fish are too large.” or “You do not have adequate oxygen in your water.” Finally, your pond builder will say, “We are sorry, but we don’t do pond maintenance.”

One cannot learn it all from books. It is through pond maintenance that one learns to recognize the many different mistakes made by would be pond builders. Maintenance experience enables Dai Ichi to avoid all the Koi pond “horror stories”.
